Blinds FAQs
All of our blinds are custom made for your space. Once you have placed your order, the factory creates your blind and ships it to our showroom. Our team will then contact you to set up a time for installation. If preferred, you can order them and install yourself.
Our Blinds Consultant will help you assess your requirements and make recommendations based on function, style and budget.
There are entry level, mid range and higher priced options, depending on the material, style and method of operating the blind. There is something for every budget.
Shortly after an order is entered, there is an estimated ship date available. If there are delays due to back orders or shipping then that information is available and can be communicated to keep the customer up to date.
Oddly shaped windows such as bay windows, skylights, round windows and arched windows are difficult to cover and operate. Each shape needs to be treated differently. Blinds, shutters, solar shade and custom window treatments are available options.
Both real wood and faux wood blinds look similar but differ in terms of their raw materials, features, appearance, and cost. Real wood blinds are entirely made of wood such as basswood and hardwood covered with a protective layer of varnish for giving a glossy finish. These blinds offer a richer and more natural grainy look while being durable and easy to install. However, they’re not recommended for rooms with high humidity levels as they’re made of real wood which could cause them to swell or warp. Faux Wood blinds are made from Poly-Vinyl Chloride (PVC) with a coating of high-tech polymer (composite). These blinds have a synthetic look but are durable, easy to clean and can withstand high moisture. The choice between faux wood and real wood blinds depends on the preferences of homeowners usually having to do with the extent of the budget.
Window treatments are a great way to improve energy efficiency by keeping the home cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Some of the best window coverings options to block sunlight, insulate windows and save energy are blackout shades, cellular (honeycomb) shades, shutters, and roller blinds. All of these treatments offer differing amount of privacy and UV protection.
Our Warranty
The kitchen cabinets provided by Sunridge Supply are designed to give a lifetime of use and satisfaction. Sunridge Supply Inc. hereby warrants to the original purchaser that all products sold by Sunridge Supply Inc. are free from defects in material and workmanship as per the Limited Warranty listed below. The warranty on drawer slides and hinges is for 5 years, some conditions may apply. Sunridge Supply Inc. also provides a 2 year warranty on the cabinet construction, and 1 year on the cabinet doors and finishes.
Sunridge's warranty is expressly limited to replacing or repairing defective parts at Sunridge's discretion and covers parts only, and will not extend to labour or features and conditions found inherent in the wood species style or finish attributes (for example, but not limited to joint lines revealed due to expansion and contraction of wood doors with painted finishes). All dates are from date of sale. This warranty is only valid to the original purchaser of the cabinets at the original site of installation and is not transferable. This warranty is applicable only in climate controlled residential applications (relative humidity 35-55% and temperatures ranging from 17-24°C). This warranty shall become void if the cabinets are damaged by misuse, abuse, negligence, alterations, acts of God, improper installation or handling and storage of our cabinetry by others. Sunridge Supply Inc. reserves the right to alter product design, specifications and materials without prior notification or obligation to incorporate such changes to products previously manufactured.
Under normal use, the hinges used in Sunridge’s products will come with a lifetime warranty, some conditions may apply. They have a maximum optimal range when fully open (typically 110 degrees). In the event that the door is opened beyond the maximum published opening, product failure may occur and is not covered under this warranty.
The warranty on drawer slides is for the life-time of the kitchen, some conditions may apply. The drawer slides used in Sunridge’s products have a static load rating as listed below. User should be aware that the load rating is established with the weight evenly distributed throughout the drawer. Unevenly distributed weight, and/or improper use of the drawer can result in failure of the drawer guide and is not covered under the lifetime warranty.
- Full extension side-mount slides – 100lbs
- Full extension, soft close, under-mount slides – 55lbs
The lacquer finish used with Sunridge products is designed to meet and/or exceed the requirements of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. As with any quality finish, it will wear with age and use, depending upon the owner’s maintenance of the product. Exposure to abrasive chemicals, solvents, excessive ultraviolet light, and moisture can cause the finish to fail. Due to the variables involved in the maintenance of the finish, the Warranty on this aspect of the product is limited to one year from the original date of purchase.
The cabinets provided by Sunridge Supply utilize solid and veneered wood materials in its products. Due to normal variations in the density and graining of wood itself, the same stain applied to another piece of the same wood species may result in a somewhat different appearance. This variation can be greater when comparing solid wood to veneers. Additionally, wood species in all finishes will exhibit colour changes when exposed to light (natural or man-made). It is the general nature of wood to darken over time. This aging process is not hindered by the finishing process. Colour variations are also caused by the assortment of minerals found in the earth in which the tree was grown. The level of mineral absorption will vary in a given piece of wood. All wood species will exhibit the following attributes: sap runs, knots and pinholes. These characteristics will occur in varying degrees depending on the type of wood species selected. This Warranty does not cover the effects of light and aging upon Sunridge products, or the natural features and conditions normally characteristic of the wood, finishing, or manufacturing process.
Note: Sunridge offers no warranty for warping on “solid slab” wood doors and drawer fronts on any items larger than 2.5 sq ft.
This Warranty applies only to cabinetry subject to normal and proper use and maintenance as intended. Sunridge supply Inc. will not assume responsibility for any damage, defects, or failure caused by abuse, accidents, improper installation, negligence, extreme temperatures or extreme moisture levels, customer modification or reconstruction, improper storage, or any type of misuse. This Warranty does not cover expenses incurred while removing, installing, or repairing defective products unless delivery & installation were directly provided by Sunridge Supply Inc. Any referral of a contractor for installation does not constitute employment of a contractor and is not the responsibility of Sunridge Supply Inc. In the event of a defect in your Sunridge cabinets, Sunridge supply Inc. will replace or repair, at their discretion, the defective parts with identical or similar parts of equal value. Replacement products provided under this Warranty may not exactly match original products due to the passage of time, natural aging process, and evolution of Sunridge’s product offering. Due to their continuous improvement efforts, Sunridge supply Inc. reserves the right to change or alter design specifications and materials as conditions require with no notice or obligation to previous or existing products.
- Clean the cabinet as needed with a lint-free cloth dampened with soap and water. Dry immediately with a lint-free cloth.
- Avoid using scouring pads or powdered cleansers as these products may scratch and penetrate the surface, allowing food or moisture to enter and cause deterioration of the finish. Do not use oil base cleaners or finishing products like Minwax.
- Wipe up spills, splatters and water marks as they occur, keeping the surface dry.
